My Story

The Journey of Becoming

"I did not choose this path. This path chose me — and I chose to walk it with intention."

Who I Am

My name is Emmanuel Ereyi. I am a multimedia journalist, storyteller and creator. I explore power — what it is, how it works, who has it, who doesn't, and what it does to people.

I grew up navigating worlds that did not always have space for people like me. That experience — of being on the outside looking in, of having to work twice as hard to be seen half as clearly — shaped everything I think about power, identity and what it means to become.

I came to journalism not because I wanted to report the news, but because I wanted to tell the stories that the news missed. The stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. The stories of power — how it is built, how it is abused, and how it can be reclaimed.

The Path

Early Life

Roots & Resilience

Growing up between cultures, between worlds, between identities. Learning early that belonging is not given — it is built. And that the people who build it are the ones who understand what it costs.

The Craft

Finding My Voice

Years of writing, reporting, producing and creating. Learning the discipline of storytelling — that every word must earn its place, that every story must serve the audience, that truth is not a destination but a direction.

The Turn

From Reporter to Creator

The moment I realised that the most important stories I had to tell were not about other people — they were about ideas. About power. About what it means to become. That realisation changed everything.

Now

The Power of Becoming

Building something new. A platform, a community, a body of work that explores the ideas that matter most. Not just reporting on the world, but trying to shape it — one idea, one story, one principle at a time.

What I Believe

Power is not the problem

The abuse of power is the problem. Power itself — the capacity to shape, to create, to lead — is one of the most important forces for good in the world. The goal is not to diminish power but to develop it responsibly.

Stories change the world

Not data. Not arguments. Stories. The most powerful ideas in history were carried by stories. If you want to change how people think, you have to change the stories they tell themselves.

Becoming is a choice

You are not fixed. You are not defined by your past, your circumstances or other people's expectations. Every day is an opportunity to choose who you are becoming. That choice is the most powerful thing you have.
